The 60th Anniversary of the Queens Coronation

The Guernsey/Alderney Postal Service will issue six new stamps that have a postage value of 40p, 53p, 55p 63p, 71p and 79p named "The 60th Anniversary of the Queen Coronation" on the 29th of May 2013. This commemorative issue has taken six different moments of the Queens coronation in 1953 at Westminster Abbey. Queen Elizabeth II was the 39th Sovereign to be crowned at Westminster Abbey. She wore a dress that was made of white satin embroidered with the emblems of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. This coronation was the first to be televised with an estimated 20 million viewers with another 11 million who listened to the event on the radio. At that time the population of Great Britain was just over 36 million.

"The 60th Anniversary of the Queen Coronation" stamps can be purchase as a set of 6, or FDC. The size of the each stamp is 44.45mm x 27.94mm with a perforation size of 13.75 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by BDT International using the offset lithography printing method with 110gms unwatermarked paper with PVC adhesive.
