Endangered Species Bengal Tiger The Guernsey Postal Service will issue a new mini-sheet with a postage value of 3 pounds named "Endangered Species Bengal Tiger" on the 22nd of February 2012. This new mini-sheet depicts the Bengal tiger that is found in India. The Bengal Tiger now represents about half of all wild tigers and is on the IUCN Endangered species list. Over the last 100 years hunting and forest destruction has reduced the tiger population from hundreds of thousands to about 1500. The tiger mostly inhabits the dry and wet forest areas of central and south India. A male Bengal tiger can grow as large as 3 meters in length and weight up to 300 kilograms. The female of the species are smaller then the males but are still deadly. They hunt medium and large size animals and will even attack a small elephant or rhino calve. Endangered Species Bengal Tiger stamp can be purchase as a mini-sheet, Presentation Pack, or FDC. The size of the stamp is 76mm x 61.12mm with a perforation size of 13.75 x 13.75 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by BDT International using the Offset Lithography printing process with 110gms PVA Adhesive paper.
