Endangered Species Blue Whale

The Guernsey Postal Service has issued a new mini-sheet that has a postage value of 3 pounds named "Endangered Species: Blue Whale" on the 23rd of February 2011. This mini-sheet depicts a blue whale that is the largest animal ever known to have lived on the planet earth. During motherhood a blue whale baby will be inside her for nearly a year. After birth the baby blue whale weights nearly 3 tons and measures about 8 meters in length. The average lifespan of a blue whale is about 90 years old and can be between 25 and 35 meters long.

"Endangered Species: Blue Whale" can be purchased as a mini-sheet, Sheets of 10, Presentation Pack or FDC. The size of each stamp is 70mm x 69.9mm and the size of the mini-sheet is 84mm x 118mm. The stamp has a perforation of 13.145 using the 2cm reference. They have been printed by Southern Color Print using the offset lithography printing process with 110 PVA adhesive paper.
