Ford Model T Centenary

Guernsey Postal Service has issued six new stamps with postage values of 34p, 40p, 48p, 51p, 53p, and 74p named "Ford Model T Centenary" on the 31st of July 2008. These stamps depict images of a red 1912 Roadster and 1925 pick-up, a First World War ambulance, a green 1912 delivery car/van, while black is represented by a 1917 Couplet and 1913 Touring car. Henry Ford an entrepreneur of the time was the first to use the production line to build the Model T. This increased the speed of the operation to build a Model T from 12 1/2 hours to 90 minutes. Thus reduced the cost of building a Model T from $1,875 to $500. This reduced the purchase price and made the Model T a very popular and successful sales car.

"Ford Model T Centenary" stamps can be purchased in a set of 6, Sheets of 10, Prestige Booklet, Presentation Pack or FDC. The size of each stamp is 36mm x 36mm and has a perforation size of 13.5 using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by BDT International using the Offset Lithography printing method with 110gsm PVA adhesive Paper.
