Endangered Species of the Florida Everglades

Guernsey Postal Service will issued a new miniature sheet with two stamps that have postage values of 1.00 and 1.50 pounds named "Endangered Species of the Florida Everglades" on the 16th of February 2006. This miniature sheet depicts four endangered species in the Florida Everglades. Each species is identified as follows:

  • American Crocodile (top left)
  • Wood Stork (top right)
  • Leatherback Turtle (bottom left
  • West Indian Manatee (bottom right)
Today the Florida Everglades is dying and numerous federal, state, local and tribal partners have come together to save it. A redevelopment plan has been put into motion that will cost $7.8 billion and will take 30 years to complete.

"Endangered Species of the Florida Everglades" stamps can be purchase as a Miniature sheet, Presentation Pack, or FDC. The size of each stamp is 32.4mm x 48.26mm with a perforation size of 15 x 14, and the size of the miniature sheet is 90mm x 110mm. The miniature sheet will be printed by BDT International using the Offset Lithography Printing process with 110gsm unwatermarked PVA adhesive paper.
