NASA 50th Anniversary Mini-sheet

Gibraltar Postal Service has issued a new mini-sheet with 4 stamps that has postage values of 10p, 17p, 42p, and 2 pounds named "NASA 50th Anniversary" on the 15th of September 2008. These stamps depict images from the Apollo 11 space mission which set off to land the first man on the moon. The mission included Commander Neil Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin Eugene 'Buzz' Aldrin Jr. On July 20th 1969 Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is an agency of the United States government responsible for the nations public space program. Its new challenge for today is to build a permanent moon base. Several unmanned missions are already planned between 2008 and 2011 to map out landing sites and to find a spot for the permanent moon base.

"NASA 50th Anniversary" stamps can be purchased as a mini-sheet, Collector pack mini-sheet, or FDC mini-sheet. The size of the stamps is 31.8mm x 31.8mm. and the size of the mini-sheet is 151mm x 105mm. They will be printed by Lowe Martin Security Printers, Canada using the Offset Lithography printing method.
