Finland Postal Service has issued a new mini-sheet with four stamps that have a postage value of 0.80 Euro each named "1809 - Building a Nation" on the 22nd of January 2009. As a result of the Russo-Swedish war of 1809, Finland’s centuries-long connection with Sweden were severed and Finland became an independent Grand Duchy of the Russian Empire. This Mini-sheet depicts four portrait paintings that honor 4 different men of the time. They are Tsar Alexander I. of Russia and great statesmen Georg Magnus Sprengtporten, Car Erik Mannerheim and Mauritz Armfelt. Each of these men had an active role in the fight for Finland independence.

The minisheet size is 147mm x 105mm. It will be printed by Cartor Security Printing, France using the offset foil + 385(gold tone) + letterpresses print method with PVA Gum 100gsm paper.
