International Polar Year

Finland Postal Service will issued a new mini-sheet with two stamps that have a postage value of 0.70 Euros each named "International Polar Year" on the 24th of January 2007. The stamps in the mini-sheet partly overlap each other and feature a glittering snowflake hologram. They are being issued to recongize the International Polar Year that starts in 2007. The International Polar Year is a large scientific program that will focused on the changes in the Snow and Ice in the Arctic and the Antarctic from March 2007 to March 2009. Seven other countries will also issue stamps and mini-sheets to reconize the International Polar Year. They include Iceland, Greenland, Canada, USA, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. International Polar Year" stamps can be purchased as mini-sheet, or FDC.
