Martta Wendelin's Painterly Christmas Stamps

It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year the Finland Postal Service has issued two new stamps that have postage values of 45 & 65 Euro named "Martta Wendelin's Painterly Christmas Stamps" on the 10th of October 2004. The two stamps depict portraits of Christmas painted by Martta Wendelin. These stamps not only stir up adult memories of our own childhood Christmas, but they also present the images of our own children today. With the writing of wish lists to Santa, and the decorating of Christmas Trees.

"Martta Wendelin's Painterly Christmas Stamps" stamps can be purchased as single stamps, Sheets of 20 (0.45 Euro) and Sheets of 10 (0.65 Eur), or FDC. The size of each stamp is 24.5mm x 34.5mm with a sheet size 162mm x 109mm. They will be printed by Joh. Enschede Securtiy Printers, Netherlands using the Gravure printing process with Self-adhesive paper. A quantity of 7,000,000 will be issued.
