Royal Wedding

Faroe Islands Postal Service will issue a new stamp mini-sheet that has two stamps with postage values of 5.00 and 6.50 DDK named "Royal Wedding" on the 14th of May 2004. The new mini-sheet will celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Frederik & Mary Donaldson. The wedding will be held on the day the mini-sheet is issued. Crown Prince Frederik is a prince of Denmark and Mary Donaldson is an ordinary young lady from Tasmania, Australia. She will become a Danish citizen and the Crown Princess of Denmark at the same time. The wedding will be held in Copenhagen Cathedral and the festivities will be held at Fredensborg Castle, where the Crown Prince parents, Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik will celebrate the wedding.
But the festivities for this wedding will began as early as 11th May with a dinner at Christiansborg Castle, and the day before the wedding there will be a reception at the Danish Parliament and a gala performance at the Royal Theater. After the wedding the couple will drive to the residence castle, Amalienborg, in a state coach after which they will appear on the balcony-and then finally - there will be a wedding dinner at Fredensborg Castle in the evening.

"Royal Wedding" mini-sheet can be purchased as a single mini-sheet or FDC. The size of each stamp is 28.84mm x 28.88mm with a perforation size of 13 1/4. The size of the mini-sheet is 65.0mm x 130.0mm. It will be printed by Post Danmark Frimaerker, Denmark using the Offset & Photogravure printing process.
