Jellyfish

The Faroe Islands Postal Service will issue four new stamps with postage values of 8kr, 15.5kr, 18.5kr and 26kr named "Jellyfish" on the 26th of February 2014. The stamps depict four beautiful undersea photographs of Jellyfish found in the waters around the Faroe Islands. Each of the jellyfish on the stamps, and their common names follow by scientific names are listed below:

  • 8kr, Common Jellyfish- Aurelia aurita
  • 15.50kr, Lion's mane jellyfish- Cyanea Capillata
  • 18.5kr, Mauve stinger- Pelagia noctiluca
  • 26kr, Melon jellyfish - Beroe cucumis

"Jellyfish" stamps can be purchase as a set of 4, and FDCs. The size of the stamps is 25mm x 42mm. They will be printed by LM Group, Canada using the offset + varnish printing process.
