Potatoes and Root Vegetables

The Faroe Islands Postal Service has issued 2 new stamps that have postage values of 6.00 and 8.00 DKK named "Potatoes and Root Vegetables" on the 20th of September 2010. These new stamps depict the most popular grown food in the Faroe Islands. They are turnips and potatoes. Faroese turnips and Nowegian turnips were the most common vegetable grown until the 19th century. When Potatoes arrive in the Faroes and became very important in Faroese households for dinner.

"Potatoes and Root Vegetables" stamps can be purchased as a set of 2, Sheets, and FDC. The size of the stamps is 24.75mm x 45.00mm . They will be printed by LM Group, Canada using the offset printing Process.
