When Santa got Stuck up the Chimney

It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visit San Marino, New Zealand and Guernsey. Each of their 2013 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

San Marino issued three new Christmas stamps in 2013 named "Natale 2013" These stamps are part of a souvenir sheet that is dedicated to Christmas and reproduces the Christmas crib made of ploystyrene by the pupils of elementary school named "La Quercia" in Murate in 2012. They were designed by Paolo Maniglio and their postage value is 0.70 Euro each. They can be purchased in a souvenir sheet and FDCs. The size of each stamp is 40mm x 30mm with a perforation size of 13 x 13.25 using the 2cm reference. The size of the souvenir sheet is 137mm x 105mm. It was printed by Cartor Security Printing using the 4 color offset printing process with fluorescent ink as a safety device. A total of 70,000 souvenir sheets have been printed.

New Zealand issued five new stamps named "Christmas 2013" on 2nd of October 2013. These stamps were design by Martin Bailey and they feature five different Christmas gatherings which include: Gift giving (70c), Christmas Lunch($1.40), Decorating the tree($1.90), Crickets on the beach($2.40) and Carol singing($2.90). They can be purchased in various assortments: Singles, Set of 5, Sheets of 25, Assorted Blocks and Assorted FDC's. The size of each stamp is 35mm x 35mm, with a perforation size of 14.285 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Southern Color Print Ltd. using the four color offset lithography printing process with Tullis Russell 104gms paper.

Guernsey issued seven new Christmas stamps named "When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney" on November 13, 2013. These stamps were design by Nick Watton and are being issue to celebrate the festive season with the song "When Santa got stuck up the chimney". Each of the stamp images brings the lyrics to life imaginatively and are as follows: Santa gliding past the window(35p), Santa lands on the roof(40p), Santa is stuck in the chimney(53p), Children pulling Santa out(55p), Santa sneezing(63p), Santa leaves presents(71p) and Santa continues on his way(79p). These stamps can be purchased as a set of 7, Sheets of 50, Presentation pack, and assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 30 x 40mm with a perforation size of 13 x 13.25 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Carter Security Printing using the offset Lithography printing method with 110g gms PVA adhesive paper.
