It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visit United States of America (USA), Faroe Islands and Christmas Island. Each of their 2013 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

United States of America (USA) issued a new international Christmas stamp named "Global Forever Evergreen Wreath" on October 24, 2013. The stamp depict a beautiful evergreen wreath with clusters of bright red Nandia berries and pinecones. Its is finished off with a red bow that is centered at top with a tail draping down into the center. It was designed by William J. Gicker. Its postage value is Global Forever which provides postage for any International 1 ounce First-Class Mail to any country in the world. It can also be used to mail 2 ounce first class letter to Canada. It can be purchased as blocks of 4 and sheets of 10. Sorry at this time no specification are available.

Faroe Islands issued two new stamps named "The Christmas Gospel 1" on 23rd of September 2013. These stamps were design by Edward Fuglo. The first stamp depicts a small barn where Christ was born with a star above that shines through a small window. A rod and ladder stand on each side of the barn to symbolize the hope for a new way onward and up. The second stamp depicts Joseph with the rod in one hand, and his arm around Marys shoulder, ready to lead his family through life in harmony with his creator. A star shining above shows them the way. The postage values for the stamps is 7.00 and 12.5DKK. They can be purchased as a set of 2, and FDC. The size of each stamp is 42mm x 26.44mm. They were printed by LM Group, Canada using the offset printing process.

Christmas Island issued two new Christmas stamps named "Christmas Island Christmas" on November 1, 2013. These stamps were design by Jo Mure, Australia Post Design Studio, and feature Santa and Christmas Island fauna. The first stamp depicts Santa taken to the air on the back of a Frigatebird with a banner wishing everybody a Merry Christmas. The second stamp depicts a Frigatebird and a Red Crab carrying a payload of presents in a hot-air balloon with Christmas Island in the background. The postage values of these stamps is 55 cents and $1.80 They can be purchased as a set of 2, Minisheet, Stamp pack, Gutters and and assorted FDCs. The size of each stamp is 37.5 x 26mm with a perforation size of 14.6 x 13.86 using the 2cm reference. Minisheet size is 135mm x 80mm. They were printed by RA Print using the Lithography printing method with Tullis Russell paper.
