It's that time again when postal services around the world issue their new Christmas Stamps. This year we decided to cover two or three different countries a week in our newsletter until Christmas. This week we visited the United States of America (USA), Great Britain (Royal Mail) and Aland. Each of their 2012 Christmas stamp issues are shown above and some information about them is listed below.

USA issued four new Christmas stamps named "Santa and Sleigh" on October 11th, 2012. They were designed by artist Paul Rogers and art director Howard Paine. The four stamps together form a se-tenant block that depicts Santa and his sleigh flying through the air with a cargo of toys and gifts. Each stamp has a postage value of forever first class USA postage. They can be purchased in double sided booklets of 20 self-adhesive stamps and FDC's. Great Britain postal service issued two new Christmas stamps named "Santa and Deer" on 6th of November 2012. The stamps depict Santa holding his helpful Robin and a Reindeer with decorated antlers. On this issue the Santa stamp has a postage value of 1st class and the Reindeer stamp has a postage value of 2nd Class. Both stamps can be purchased is sheets of 12 and various FDC's. Aland issued a new stamp named "Christmas 2012" on October 9, 2012. This new stamp depicts an elf filling a sleigh with presents. It was designed by Minna L Immonen and has a postage value of Julpost. It can be purchased as a single, sheets of 40, and FDC. The size of the stamp is 35.4mm x 26mm with perforation of 13 using the 2cm reference. It was printed using the 4 color Offset printing process.
