Adopt a Pen

The Canada Postal Service has issued 5 new stamps that have a postage value of permanent domestic rate named "Adopt a Pet" on the 22nd of April 2013. The Canada Post issued these stamps to promote the importance of adopting an animal from one of the many Shelters across Canada. In 2010 it was determine that nearly 150,000 homeless pets were admitted to shelters costing taxpayers millions of dollars. The Canada post hopes that this issue of stamps will alert the public to adopt a pet whenever they decide to get one. Your local humane society or SPCA has animals that have already been spayed or neutered; and their physical health and behavior has been tested to ensure they are ready for a new home.
