Canada Navy 1910-2010

The Canada Postal Service has issued two new stamps that have a postage value of 57 cents named "Canadian Navy 1910-2010" on the 4th of May 2010. These stamps depict the past and present of Canada's naval service. On the left above is one of Canada's first warships, the HMCS Niobe. On the right above is one of Canada's modern frigate, the HMCS Halifax. These stamps are being issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Navy which was enacted on May 4, 1910. They will create public awareness of the role that the Canadian Navy has played both in war and in peace over the past 100 years.

"Canadian Navy 1910-2010" stamps can be purchased as a Booklet of 10, Souvenir sheet, or Souvenir Sheet FDC. The size of each stamp is 40mm x 32mm with a perforations of simulated(booklet stamps) or 13+ (Souvenir Sheet) using the 2cm reference. They will be printed by Lowe-Martin printer using the Lithography printing process with Tullis Russel paper. A total of 3 million booklets and 225,000 Souvenir sheets will be printed.
