Canada Gardens

Canada Postal Service will issue four new stamps that each have a postage value of 51 cents named "Gardens" on the 8th of March 2006. This new stamp set depicts four different types of gardens and the types of wild creatures attracted to live in these gardens. Each is described as follows:

  • Shade Garden (top left) - attracts black-throated blue warbler
  • Flower Garden (top right) - attracts Lady butterfly
  • Water Garden (bottom left) - attracts green darner dragonfly
  • Rock Garden (bottom right) - attracts blue spotted salamander.

"Gardens" stamps can be purchase as a Booklet of 8, or FDC. The size of each stamp is 28mm x 44mm with a kiss cut perforation. The stamps will be printed by Lowe-Martin using the Lithography Printing process with Tullis Russell Coated Paper and Pressure sensitive Gum. A quantity of 6 million will be printed.
