Canada Postal Service will issue a new 47 cent stamp on the 19th day of September 2001. This stamp honors the Shriners who have presented a message of hope, benevolence and community involvement. They have created a network of specialized hospitals that have provided expert orthopedic and burn care to children - free of charge - for over 75 years. It all began in 1872 when a group of 13 Masons founded the Shrine of North America. An international fraternity that is now 610,000 strong and spans the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the Republic of Panama. The clown on the stamp is used by Shriners in circuses, fund raisers and as a diversion for children, figures prominently as a helping volunteer.

This issue can be purchase as singles, Pane of 16, or FDC's. The printing process used to print the stamps is Lithography with 5 colors. Perforation size is 13+ and the stamp size is 30mm x 40mm vertical. The stamp is tagged on 4 sides and the gum type is P.V.A. There will be 5,000,000 copies printed.
