Rain Forest Butterflies

Australia Postal Service will issue 4 new stamps that have postage values of 5, 10, 75 cents & $2.00 named "Rain Forest Butterflies" on the 4th of May 2004. The butterflies depicted on these stamps are all found in the Daintree region of the Wet Tropics. Each of them is described as follows:

  • Red Lacewing (Cethosia cydippe) (5 Cents)
  • Blue-banded eggfly (Hypolimnas alimena) (10 Cents)
  • Cruiser (Vindula arsinoe) (75 Cents)
  • Daintree rainforest ($2.00)

"Rainforest Butterflies" can be purchased as a complete set, sheets of 50, Stamp Pack or FDC. The size of the 5, 10 & 75 Cents stamps is 30mm x 25mm with a perforation size of 14 x 14.4; and the size of the $2.00 stamp is 50mm x 30mm with a perforation size of 14.4 x 14. The stamps will be printed by SNP Sprint using the Lithography printing process with Tullis Russell paper.
