Australian Postal Service has issued two new Christmas stamps on the 1st of November 2002. The name of the set is "Christmas 2002." Each of the stamps depict a different nativity scene with a postage value of 40 cents and 45 cents. The 40 cent stamp features Mary with baby Jesus and the angel motif. The 45 cents stamp features the wise men from the east, who brought gifts for the Christ Child.

The Christmas 2002 stamps can be purchase as a single set, booklet of 20 - 40 cent stamps, First day cover, Stamp pack, set of gutter strips with 10 - 40 cents and 10 - 45 cents stamps, or a gutter strip of 10 - 40 cents, or a gutter strip of 10 - 45 cents stamps. Sheet layouts is 50 stamps in two panes of 25. Each stamp size is 26 mm x 37.5 mm. Perforations size is 14.6 x 13.86 for the gummed stamps. And the booklet stamps are self-adhesive. The Printing process used is Lithography and the national postmark on the FDC is Christmas Hills VIC 3775.
