London 2012 Olympic Games

The Australia Postal Service has issued three new stamps that have postage values of 60 cents, $1.60 and $2.35 named "London 2012 Olympic Games" on the 17th of July 2012. This is the second issue of a three part series being released for the Games of the XXX Olympiad (27 July 2012 - 12 August 2012) in London. This issue carries the symbol of the International Olympic Commitee(IOC) and commemorates the performances of all athletes at the Olympic Games. The stamps depicts three Olympic sports which include Rowing, Swimming and Pole Vault. Australian athletes have shown great strengths in these sports at past Olympic Games and their hoping for another great Olympic showing in these upcoming games.

"London 2012 Olympic Games" can be purchase as a set of three, Sheetlets of 5 for the $1.60 and $2.35, Collector pack, Gutter Strip of 10 for all three stamps, and assorted FDCs. The size of the each stamp is 37.5mm x 26mm with a perforation size of 14.6 x 13.86 using the 2cm reference. They were printed by Mckellar Renown using the Lithography printing process with Tullis Russell B90 and B100 paper.
