Fish of the Australian Antarctic Territory

Australian Postal Service has issued four new stamps that have postage values of 50 Cents and $1.00 named "Fish of the Australian Antarctic Territory" on the 1st of August 2006. The stamps are presented in a style reminiscent to the 19th-century scientific specimen sketches. These four fish species are found in waters around the Australian Antarctic Territories. The name of each is as follows:

  • 50c - Mackerel Icefish (top left)
  • 50c - Lanternfish (top right)
  • $1.00 - Eaton’s Skate (bottom left)
  • $1.00 - Patagonian Toothfish (bottom right)

"Fish of the Australian Antarctic Territory" can be purchased as a set of 4 or two se-tenant pairs, Stamp Pack, Gutter strips, or FDC. The size of each stamp is 37.5mm x 26mm with a perforation size of 13.86 x 14.60 per 2cm reference. The stamps will be printed by SEP Sprint using the Lithography Printing process with Tullis Russell paper.
