Australian Postal Service will issue the Birds of Prey stamps on the 9th day of September 2001. This issue of four stamps, or two se-tenant pairs will commemorate the centenary of Birds Australia. Presented richly in details and colors, each bird is shown in its natural habitat. Shown below the first stamp of the top se-tenant pair is the Wedge-tailed Eagle (Aquila audax), next to it is Nankeen Kestrel (Falco cenchroides). The first stamp of the second se-tenant pair shown below the first se-tenant pair is the Red Goshawk (Erythrotriorchis radiatus), and next to it is the Spotted Harrier (Circus assimilis). These beautifully illustrated stamps would be a nice addition to any stamp collections.
This issue can be purchase as two se-tenant pairs (shown below), First Day Cover (shown below), or Stamp Pack (shown above). The printing process used to print the stamps is Lithography. The Perforations sizes are 13.86 x 14.6 for the 49 cents, and 14.6 x 13.86 for the 98 cents.
