Flowering This Winter

Aland Finland Postal Service has issued three new definitive stamps that have postage values of 0.80, 0.90 and 5.00 Euro named "The Beach is Flowering This Winter" on the 1st of February 2007. The stamps feature three plants that thrive along the Aland waterside. They are:

  • Sea Aster (0.80 Euro) - a purple flower that blooms between July and August and grows up to 60cm tall.
  • Purple Loosestrife (0.90 Euro) - a reddish purple flower that blooms between July and August and grows up to 2 meters tall.
  • Beach Angelica (5.00 Euro) - know as a aromatic and medicinal flower that blooms between July and August and grows up to 2 Meters tall.

"The Beach is Flowering this Winter" stamps can be purchased as Singles, Sheets of 16, Gutter pair strips, or FDC. The size of each stamp is 40mm x 26mm with a Perforation size of 13 using the 2cm reference . They will be printed by LM Group using the Offset Printing process with 102gms paper. The quantity printed of each is:

  • Sea Aster 300,000
  • Purple Loosestrife 300,000
  • Beach Angelica 250,000
