IONIAN ISLANDS

Ionian Islands consisted of seven Islands. They are Corfu, Paxos, Lefkas, Cephalonia, Ithaca, Cerigo and Zante. The Islands were own by Great Britain until 1864 when they were given to Greece. The island became an integral part of the kingdom of Greese. In 1941 the Italians occupied the islands until 1943, when the German Forces continued the occupation. Stamps of Greese and Italy were overprinted and used for postage during Italian and Germen occupation. Some examples of a Ionian Islands stamps and overprints is as follows:
